Mr. Juan Pablo Ortega, Business Manager ITPSA Uruguay S.A., gave an interview to the magazine ‘El Tambo’, which conducted a review of the current situation and developments in the near future of agricultural production in Uruguay. According to Mr. Ortega, the dairyman’s profile is prominently changing, leading to an evolution in the way the structure is posed and the operation of farms, imposing criteria about business-like management.
Analyzing the last year of the dairy industry in Uruguay, there have been difficulties related to excessive rains, the loss of days of grazing and increased production costs, partly linked to an increase in the purchase of concentrate. On the other hand, there have been problems in the industry totally unrelated to the producers, but are causing a great dynamism aimed primarily at technical development, which is allowing an improvement in the preparation of professionals involved in this activity and a greater sense guild. According to Mr. Ortega, this should allow for greater speed and efficiency in responding to the problems that the industry must face in the coming years.
Among the new product line ITPSA included the incorporation into the Latin American market the new product SINERMIC PLUS ®, an additive core consisting mainly of live yeast, sequestrant aflatoxins, and a multivitamin-mineral with high absorption and bioavailability. The effectiveness of this product tested in the control of rumen acidosis, aplomb and feet problems and strengthening its immunomodulatory activity as digestive and of the udder, can maximize the productive performance of animals, also limiting the occurrence of lameness between other processes. Likewise, Mr. Ortega said the efficiency of SINERMIC PLUS® in reducing and stabilizing the somatic cell count. On the other hand, this product has an important role as a mycotoxin binder, which due to the levels recorded in Uruguay of fusariotoxins in the last 2 years, mainly zearalenone and deoxynivalenol (DON), places this product line currently in a strategic for producers of dairy cattle.
